This is quite possibly the geekiest thing I've ever written. Too bad.

So, I'm the kind of person who totally yells at the television when she's home alone watching Star Wars. "No, Ani! Don't kill the small children!"
The thing is, I've watched these movies a million times and know that, yes, he is going to kill the small children no matter what I say. And, actually, Star Wars is ridiculous. They're all awful actors. And there are awful transitions (shutters, anyone?). But I love it anyways.
One thing that really gets me, though, is that Luke is the one who becomes a Jedi.
Leia doesn't become a Jedi! Why not?
There are so few female Jedi, actually, it freaks me out. There are a few, of course. But all the main characters are male. The only semi-memorable female Jedi is that one that isn't human, the one that's blue and has, like, two head appendages.
Actually, though, I found this.
There are no storylines associated with any of these characters. Heck, their names are never even mentioned (but there is Yaddle, who's like Yoda, but female). There are a million male Jedi whose names are mentioned and whose lives are gone into in great depth.

And while we're talking about Star Wars, Yoda is super awesome, also. He's green. And short. And he kicks major butt. I really like the idea that there is a Yaddle, who is of the same species as Yoda. And looks kinda like Yoda, in the green-ness and the short-ness. But she has more hair.

George Lucas? If you're reading this?
I would also enjoy it if you would stop putting all your female characters into all of those objectifying outfits. You know what I'm talking about. Attack of the Clones, for one.
Is it really necessary for us to watch Natalie Portman lose pieces of her clothing, one at a time?
Does this really add anything to your story?
And Leia, too. She's a human. Not just a person who looks good in next to nothing.
Also, women don't actually change their clothes and their hair as often as you seem to think (every single scene, George, Padmé has on another outfit).
Give them some normal clothes, for once.
And after you do that? Add more female characters, George Lucas. Like Yaddle. That wear normal clothes and actually fight.
It would be much appreciated.

  1. I agree!
Leia is basically the ONLY female character in the main movie.
She's not even that pretty, but of course she's a girl, so everyone just has to go along with it. Girls are good for more than ogling over!
